On Dec 1, an emergency rescue simulation was held in Quanzhou Jinjiang International Airport on the theme of emergency rescue of a hijacked aircraft.

The simulation started on 9 am when an airplane made emergency landing in Quanzhou Jinjiang International Airport of Fujian province. Unusually, there were no passengers get off the flight. And a man was hijacking a stewardess when the hatch opened.

At first, the hijacker required to direct flight to a certain country in Southeast Asia, or he would detonate the bomb on the airplane. After the crew dealing with him and claiming that the fuel was enough for them to arrive at the "destination", the airplane finally got emergency landing in Quanzhou Jinjiang International Airport.

The airport immediately activated its emergency response plan upon receiving distress signal from the airplane. The airport command center reported to two levels of government of Jinjiang and Quanzhou, and asked for support.

With the efforts of negotiator, the 80 passengers in the airplane were successfully rescued.

The simulation came to an end around 10 am with two police finally engaged the hijacker.

According to the related bureau of the airport, the simulation is a conventional one, and it is held every three years for coping with unforeseen circumstances.
