On Dec 3, the opening ceremony of the Consumer Food Product Research and Development Center (R&D Center) of Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine (CAIQ) has held in Jinjiang, Fujian province, which marked the city to have one more national-level R&D platform.
Li Xinshi, director of CAIQ, Zhi Yilong, director of Fujian Inspection and Quarantine Bureau and representatives of Jinjiang government attended the ceremony. A strategic cooperation agreement on promoting technological innovation and Fujian's development was signed on the occasion between Fujian Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, and CAIQ.
As the newest national R&D Center, it will focus on Fujian's key industries, especially consumer product industry and food industry. And with research on the need of these key industries, the center will explore the innovation of industrial technology, product detection and quality control. It will give full play to respective advantages of Fujian and CAIQ.
The center also plans to take footwear products as a pilot for which it has the largest brands and the most output in the province’s textile industry. While in the field of food industry, it will stay informed on the latest developments of food safety standards and technical trade barrier in the world. It will also provide risk warning information for food safety inspection authorities and enterprises to help them get ready in advance for future developments.
