The upcoming annual conference of the China Association for Science and Technology opens on May 25. The event will welcome more than 3,000 participants, said an organizer during a recent press conference.
According to the spokesperson, four Nobel laureates will give keynote speeches at this year's event. Meanwhile, some 100 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and more than 3,000 technology pioneers in their respective fields will also participate in the conference.
Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, will host the event. This year's topic will focus on Guizhou province's key industries, strategic emerging industries and industries with local advantages. It will conduct extensive economic and technological cooperation and investment.
"The conference provides a great opportunity for Guizhou. I believe it will help accelerate our social and economic development process and further help this region realize the goal of prosperity," said Xie Qingsheng, deputy director of the Guizhou Provincial People's Congress.
