The construction of the rail transit Line 6 from Hangzhou to Fuyang will begin in 2012, and will be ready for use by 2016. Line 6 will start from Bingjiang district in Hangzhou, pass New Town Zhijiang, travel along national highway 320 and enter Fuyang.
Fuyang district is 35 kilometers away from Hangzhou in northwestern Zhejiang province. For Hangzhou citizens, Fuyang is like a part of Hangzhou. Some residents of Fuyang commute to Hangzhou for work.
The expansion of Hangzhou and Fuyang highway was started on July 5, and the redirection of national highway 320 was started on July 20. The construction will help Fuyang district to have a closer relationship with Hangzhou city.
Aiming at being merged into Hangzhou city, Fuyang’s major construction includes national highway 320, Hangzhou and Fuyang highway and the light rail.
Xu Wenguang, Fuyang secretary of municipal party committee, says that Fuyang will be built into Hangzhou’s western suburban center.
