Gongshu's education has been rapidly developing in recent years. Now, Gongshu district has formed three educational circles of high quality: kindergartens, primary and high schools located in the south of Gongshu, central Gongshu, and north of Gongshu.

To make education better serve students, Gongshu Education Bureau has sped up the construction of the schools' infrastructure. From 2001 to 2009, RMB 50 m have been invested to build, enlarge and reconstruct the schools. The construction area is twice what it was in 2000. Almost every school has new desks and chairs, a playground with synthetic surface track, and new multimedia equipment.

Gongshu district plans to build 36 schools within three years: 20 kindergartens, 10 primary schools, five high schools and one school of nine-year education system. In the next 10 years, northern Hangzhou will become a key zone to develop brand schools. More and more brand kindergartens, primary and high schools will be set up, and the brand schools in Gongshu district will be the model.
