No.16 turbine-generator unit in right bank powerhouse of TGP put into operation

The take-over ceremony for the said unit was held on Three Gorges Hydroelectric Project (TGP) on July 3, 2008. It is the 6th China-made unit under operation in the right bank powerhouse for economic benefit.

This unit is manufactured by DEC, China. Milestones for its installation by the TGP RB E & M Installation Division of CGGC are as follows.

July 17,2007, started to install;

May 5, 2008, rotor put into place;

June 19,2008, installation and dry commissioning completed;

June 20, 2008, water filling and start-up test succeeded;

June 30,2008, 72-hour commissioning succeeded
