CGGC wins the bid for Left Bank Waterworks Project of Myanmar Myitsone Hydropower Station

CGGC received the notice of award for engineering construction of Left Bank Waterworks of Myanmar Myitsone Hydropower Station from Yunnan Power Investment Co of China Power Investment Corporation (hereinafter referred to as CPIC) on Dec 1, 2010.

Myanmar Myitsone Hydropower Station is a key hydropower project developed and constructed by CPIC in the basin of Ayeyarwady River in Myarmar. Located in Kachin Mountain area in north Myanmar, the power station is a primary power station planned for the trunk of Ayeyarwady River with a total installed capacity of 6,000MW.

The Left Bank Waterworks in question is designed for water supply capacity of 58,000 tons with the project amount of 51.22 million yuan ($8.44 million), and covers construction of pumping station, high pool, water plant and water transmission and distribution networks. The waterworks is mainly used for water supply for concrete placing, dam construction and servicing, production of construction unit and domestic use of the construction camp of Left Bank Project.

Development of Ayeyarwady River basin is a significant move taken by Myanmar Government for its economic advancement. CGGC, since it undertook the construction of Power Supply Station Lot BDY-C-1 for Myanmar Myitsone-Chipwi HPP Project and Banway-Chipwi Road Project, has been highly appraised by Myanmar Government and associated employers for its highly efficient construction management and excellent engineering quality. Winning the bid for engineering construction of Left Bank Waterworks will help China Gezhouba Group Cooperation stand out in competition for follow-up works of Myanmar Myitsone Hydropower Station.
