Standing Deputy Prime Minister of Laos visits CGGC Houay Lamphan Gnai Hydropower Station in Laos

Standing Deputy Prime Minister of Laos Somsavat Lengsavad paid a visit to the construction site of Houay Lamphan Gnai Hydropower Station undertaken by CGGC on July 6.

Somsavat Lengsavad was accompanied by the secretary of Xekong Provincial CPC, governor of Xekong, and head of Taden.

Houay Lamphan Gnai Hydropower Station project leader, on behalf of CGGC, received the delegation warmly. Somsavat Lengsavad visited the dam, the sand and gravels mixing system, and the construction camp, and was briefed on the basic introduction and construction progress of the project.

Impressed by the smooth running and orderly organization of the project, Somsavat Lengsavad exclaimed in Chinese, "Good job, CGGC." He was also very delighted to know that the project hired a lot of Laos employees who got along very well with their Chinese coworkers, and that the project department even hosted wedding ceremonies for Laos couples. At the end of the visit, he wished the project a complete success.

Located on the Houay Lamphan Gnai River on the southern plateau of Laos, the hydropower station has a total capacity of 88MW. CGGC EPC is the contractor of the project. The construction, starting from Nov 8, 2010, will take 60 months as provided by the contract.
