Updated: 2011-07-23

CGGC entered the list of top 100 Chinese enterprises recommended for African countries, which was released in Beijing on July 20 by China Africa Industrial Forum (CAIF).

China is the No.1 trading partner of Africa while Africa is the fourth largest overseas investment destination of China. Since 2008, the annual China-African trading volume has exceeded $100 billion. More and more Chinese enterprises including CGGC have made presence in the African market, contributing to the development of African countries.

To better promote the exchange between China and Africa, under the support of Chinese government and embassies of African countries in China, CAIF launched the selection campaign of "top 100 Chinese enterprises recommended for African countries", to promote brand building and development of Chinese enterprises.

It is said that the selection criteria include contribution to the economic and social development of Africa, and popularity among African people; good reputation in Chinese market and willingness to develop in Africa; the imitative to follow the state's strategies and policies concerning Africa and supporting or aiding Arica from the standpoint of an enterprise; and emphasis on environmental and cultural protection and strong sense of social responsibilities.

After recommendation by embassies, nomination and appraisal by experts, and public online voting which lasted for more than three months, 100 enterprises, including CGGC, were selected out of 150 candidates.
