CGGC signs contract with Laos on Nam Chiane No.1 Hydro Power Station

On April 15, CGGC and Electricite du Laos (EDL) signed the contract on Nam Chiane No.1 Hydro Power Station in Xamneua, Capital of Houaphanh Province, Laos.

Ren Jianguo, assistant to CGGC president and BOD chairman of CGGC International, and Sisavath Thiravong, managing director & CEO of EDL, signed the contract on behalf of the two sides.

CGGC signs contract with Laos on Nam Chiane No.1 Hydro Power Station

The project is located on Nam Chiane River, a left branch of upstream Nam Ngiep River in Xiangkhouang Province, northern Laos and is 66 kilometers from Honsavan, capital of the Province. Contracted works include rock-fill dam panel, flushing sluice, access tunnels, power plant buildings and switching plants. The total reservoir capacity reaches 14 million cubic meters, with the total installed capacity of 104MW (2*52MW), and the contract term lasts for 56 months. This is a priority project of Laos power development plan for 2020 and after completion, it will significantly improve the electrification rate in northern Laos and play a positive role in boosting local economic development and improving local livelihood.
