CEEC: Mabubas Hydropower Station’ electric energy output hits a record high

Updated: 2013-08-09

In the first half of 2013, the Angolan Mabubas Hydropower Station operated and maintained by CEEC generated 59.7683 million kilowatt hours, up by 100 percent over the same period of the last year.

In the rainy season this year, Angola enjoys sufficient rainfall, in this case, CEEC prepared itself well for flood control and equipment maintenance, etc., so as to ensure safe operation of the power station and realize the targets of elimination from equipment operation malfunction, misoperation and accidents related to personal safety. The generating capacity increased significantly, up by 100 percent over the same period of the last year (29.9569 million kwh), winning high praises from the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Angola.

Mabubas Hydropower Station is repaired and operated by CEEC. The hydropower station is equipped with water-diversion mixed-flow generator set with a total installed capacity of 4*6.4MW and annual average generating capacity of 84096 MW. No accident has occurred since the power station was put into commercial operation in February 2012.
