Nie Kai meets with Chief Minister of Pakistan's Punjab Province

On March 18, CEEC Vice-general Manager and CGGC President Nie Kai met with Shahbaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab Province, Pakistan. The two sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues of common concern, including power investment, grid planning and electricity infrastructure construction.

Nie told Sharif the basic situation of CEEC and the business of CGGC in such fields as cement, civilian explosives, real estate, construction and investment. As a major force in the field of infrastructure construction in China, CGGC has built the famous Gezhouba Water Conservancy Project, the Three Gorges Project and a number of other key projects, Nie said.

At present, CGGC is actively promoting industrial restructuring and upgrading and is heavily investing in such new areas as pollution control, machine building and distributed energy systems, he added, hoping that his company could strengthen cooperation with Pakistan in related fields. With a liberal investment environment, Punjab is very attractive to CGGC which is actively promoting overseas investment. CGGC has a strong financing capability and hopes for closer cooperation with Pakistan in more business areas.

In addition, Nie also highlighted CEEC's power grid planning and design capabilities. By actively participating in energy infrastructure investment and construction in Pakistan, both CEEC and CGGC are willing to help Pakistan improve its power grid planning, energy structure, infrastructure level, and social & economic development, Nie said.
