Shenyang Imperial Palace

The Shenyang Imperial Palace, in the center of Shenyang city, is the former imperial palace of the early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). It was built in 1625 and the first three Qing emperors lived there from 1625 to 1644. Since the end of monarchy in China, the palace has been converted into a museum.

In 2004, it was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List as an extension of the Imperial Palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties, or the Forbidden City, which sites inBeijing.

Dongling Park (Fu Tomb of Qing Dynasty)

The Fuling Tomb also known as the East Tomb is the mausoleum of Nurhaci, the founding emperor of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), and his wife. It served as the main site for ritualistic ceremonies conducted by the imperial family during the entire Qing Dynasty. Located in the eastern part of Shenyang city, the Fuling Tomb has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004.

Beiling Park (Zhao Tomb of the Qing Dynasty)

Zhaoling is a park in the northern part of Shenyang. The park covers an area of 3,300,000 square meters, and contains many historical buildings, pine trees and lakes. The park was constructed in 1927. Zhaoling is the tomb of the second Qing emperor. The construction of the tomb started in 1643 and finished in 1651. There is also a Children's Garden within the park. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The 9.18 Historical Museum

The museum is located on Wanghua Nan Street, in Dadong District. Using audio - visual media, numerous historical exhibition pieces, photos, pictures and information, the museum documents the "18th September Incident" of 1931 when Japanese forces attacked Shenyang.

Residence of Zhang Xueliang

This house was owned by Zhang Zuolin, Marshal of the army in 1914, and his son Zhang Xueliang, a famous patriot. The mansion is famous not only for these two persons but also for its architectural interests.

Liaoning Industrial Exhibition Hall

Liaoning Industrial Exhibition Hall is divided into many small units selling ladies and children's clothes, underwear, bedding and textiles. There is a separate hall where various exhibitions are held.

Xita is Shenyang's Korean quarter with many Korean restaurants, shops and bars.

International Horticultural Exposition

The 2006 China Shenyang International Horticultural Exposition, with a theme of 'coexisting harmoniously with nature' was held in May 1st to October 31st, 2006 in the Botanical Gardens Shenyang. The exhibition covered an area of more than 5 square kilometers. Following the exhibition the extensive gardens are still open to the public and make a very enjoyable day out for family and friends alike.

Shenyang's Magic Slope

The Magic Slope is an 80 meter long by 15 meter wide optical anomaly which gives the peculiar sensation of struggling down-hill and easily hiking up-hill.

Royal Ocean World

Royal Ocean World is 7 km from the south gate of Shenyang Botanical Garden or about a 7 minute drive from the International Horticultural Exposition.
