A “Four Halls in One” project is under construction in Qingyuan that will house a history museum, science and technology museum, exhibit hall and art museum. Construction of 500 million yuan project is expected to be completed in two years.

The Qingyuan Municipal Work Conference on Culture, Radio & Television, Press and Publications reported that the multi-purpose hall is one of 10 sports and cultural initiatives adopted by the city:

They are:

1. Construction of the city’s “Four Halls in One" and Library Book Sales Center projects

2. Construction of a citizen fitness square and Comprehensive Training Hall of Qingyuan Sports School

3. Planning and organizing a series of large-scale cultural and sports activities with higher mass involvement

4. Organizing the composition of a series of literary master works

5. Promoting important cultural heritage events and artifacts

6. Promoting libraries in rural areas and cultural information resource-sharing projects, film screenings in rural areas, rural sports and fitness projects, and township-level sports and culture centers

7. Completion of cultural system reforms of film companies, and song and dance ensembles

8. Solicitation of investments for cultural and sports sectors

9. Improvements at amateur sports training bases

10. Enhancement of laws to promote a “healthy and orderly” market

At the meeting, Wang Dekun, acting as a representative of the Qingyuan government, signed a new “Job Responsibilities for Film Screening in Rural Areas in 2011” rule.

Awards were distributed to winners of state or provincial level honors in the fields of culture, publications, sports and radio, television and print publications in 2010.
