The Party committee and government of Yinghong town of Qingyuan’s Yingde city will invest 25 million yuan to build a new campus for the central primary school.
Since the plan was announced in August 2010, about 18 million has been spent on a student dormitory, multi-purpose building, dining hall and teacher’s office. The projects are all nearing completion. The new campus of Yinghong’s central primary school will optimize and integrate the town’s education resources.
In 2009, the town mapped out nearly 2.33 hectares of land to the north of town to build a new campus for its central primary school. When the project is completed, the school will have 36 classes for 1,800 pupils. All students from grades 4 through 6 and also students in grades 1 to 3 from the Kengkouju community will attend the new school. The dormitory building and dining hall will accommodate 1,200 pupils.
Yinghong town was developed from the Guangdong Yinghong Overseas Chinese Tea Farm. It became a town in 2003. In recent years, the town has integrated education resources for preschool education, nine-year compulsory education institutions, and adult education and community culture programs. Over the past decade, it has merged four schools.
