The 8th festival will take place in Qingyuan in 2013 after the 2011 Guangdong International Tourism Cultural Festival Cruise Carnival was held in Shaoguan city on Nov 5. Since this session, the Guangdong International Tourism Cultural Festival will be held every two years.

Zhu Xiaodan, deputy secretary of the provincial Party committee and acting provincial governor, conferred the festival flag to Qingyuan city at the opening ceremony. Jing Ling, deputy secretary of the municipal Party committee and acting mayor, received the flag. At this tourism cultural festival, the city will sign six tourism projects, each valuing over one billion yuan. They will amount to 19.7 billion yuan. Among them, Qingyuan Yijie Hongtai Lion Lake Group, a large-scale tourism and recreational service supplier, will sign a contract with the Qingcheng area government. So far, the Lion Lake project has had a 5 billion yuan investment.

The Pearl River Delta Tourism Promotion conference, under the 2011 Guangdong International Tourism Cultural Festival, was ceremoniously held in Shaoguan city on November 6. At the conference, Qingyuan signed six projects, valuing $120 million, covering hot spring vacation, scenic spot supporting construction, and sightseeing agricultural development. Among them, the project of Qingcheng Degaoxin Industry Development Co. Ltd., with a total investment of $45 million, was chosen to sign on the stage of the promotion conference.
