He Binghua, deputy secretary of the municipal Party committee, took the lead and made practical surveys in some non-ferrous metal enterprises in the city on November 10. He supervised progress of projects under construction.
He's practical research covered Qingyuan Nonferrous Metals, Hongyue Aluminum, Qingyuan Jiangtong, Changying Copper, and Daxin Circuit Board. He inquired about enterprise performances and their problems. He was satisfied with the progress of projects under construction at the end of the practical survey. He said the municipal Party committee and municipal government will take all the positive and effective measures to work with the enterprises to cope with difficulties for the non-ferrous metal sector, and facilitate industrial upgrading of the enterprises.
Statistics show that in 2010, the Qingyuan renewable non-ferrous metal industry gross output had 85.55 billion yuan, taking 27.76 percent of the city's total industrial output values. It was a leading player of the city's four pillar industries (non-ferrous metal processing, discarded materials and waste and scrap materials recycling and processing, forest papermaking, and electric power generation). Qingyuan accounted for 38.63 percent of the national regenerated copper output, taking 14.18 percent of the national total copper output. In 2010, Qingyuan had 25 environment friendly import companies, which imported 1.07 million tons of scrap metal. They dismantled 2.5 million tons of scrap metals and regenerated 680,000 tons of pig copper.
