China sees a growing number of returnees

Chen Rong

Indeed, these days I have been considering whether to go back to China or not. I’ve been in Italy for nearly three years. Here, I enjoy the good weather, the good environment, the food, etc. I can also travel all around the Europe when I have time and enough money, and this is what attracts me the most! However, what also makes me hesitate about remaining here or not is that here, it is hard for me to find a way to support my self in the future. It is hard for Italian citizens, not to mention us foreign people. The economy of China is much better, and it would not be so hard, I suppose. Another thing is that, here it’s difficult to integrate in to the local communities. Except for the language and the culture, sometimes I can feel the hostility of the local people to foreign people. Moreover, I have my family and all my friends are in China. This is a very important part of my life. I’m the only daughter inmy family, and I’ll take care of my parents when they are old. It’s not so realistic to take them over here to Italy. There will be so many difficulties that I can, or can’t imagine now. And I would enjoy meeting, talking to my friends from time to time. Here I’m very far from them, from everything. So I’m more likely to go back to China.
