Cathering (China)
I'm from China. We would say things like "I miss you", "Have you taken your medicine today? ", or "don't try to save money, buy something nice to eat". When I was little, mom and dad would say "I adore you". All of the above mean "I love you". Only it's very awkward to say between parents and children, as the carnal undertone (in Chinese) means it is usually only reserved for courting or married couples to say to each other.
