Curbing visitor numbers will see locals make less money. Hong Kong functions like a commodity transfer stop and the growing demand from mainlanders will expand the demand for importing more goods, so visitors' shopping will not necessary squeeze local people's needs. Increasing pressure on local people's livelihoods is due to the growing income gap which is not caused by the multiple-entry policy.
