Editor’s note: Yuan Shuang, a graduate with a university in Shanghai, now works as a sales representative at a real estate company in the city's metro area. Many people, including her parents, can’t understand why a graduate from a prestigious Chinese university would choose to be a sales rep in a property company - a position regarded as a low-level job. But Yuan has her own dream.

I’m Yuan Shuang. I graduated from Shanghai International Studies University this year, majoring in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Now I’m working as a saleswoman in a real estate company. In the early morning, I usually choose to have a quick breakfast and take a motorcycle taxi to the company; it takes me five minutes or so. In fact, my apartment is not far from the company, it takes me about 10 minutes to walk to the company on foot, but to sleep longer, I prefer a more time-saving method.
