China and US should continue working towards a peaceful and sustainable relationship in order for both countries to thrive and succeed. President Obama and President Xi are both great leaders and I hope they both pave the way for a positive and friendly relationship for both countries.
Both Presidents have shown great leadership by pledging and signing a historical agreement on climate change in late 2014. Now one of the issues is cyber security; both countries are being attacked on a daily basis by hackers. This can also be an area of mutual cooperation by both countries; and can help strengthen ties. President Xi’s visit was amazing; he was welcomed by the tech industry and was able to meet with America’s top CEO’s. American business owners and corporations realize and respect the rise of China. The rapid development and technological advances have made China the place where businesses and people want to invest their time and money. American universities are now participating in exchange programs with Chinese universities and American students are starting to learn mandarin. Personally I’ve been a part of a China Exchange Program; I spent one year living in Shanghai and studying Mandarin. I first hand have witnessed and experienced the growth of China and the rapid modernization of China. It’s an amazing country and it’s surpassing the United States in many aspects such as infrastructure.
As an American I see President Xi’s visit to our country as one filled with positivity, this will lead more Americans to understand the importance of having a positive relationship with China. The US and China are two of the world's largest economies and it's important for both countries to keep a positive dialogue and work with each other in order to achieve mutual success.
I hope this visit helps the China-US relationship, it's a historical visit and one that will determine the future relationship of both countries. Our economies have become intertwined, the China-US relationship has come a long way and it has benefited both countries tremendously. One issue that both countries are working towards solving is Climate Change, the US and China have both pledged to cut carbon emissions. I'm happy to hear that both countries will work hard to make this world a healthier place to live in. Cooperation between both countries is what is needed right now and with President Obama and President Xi in office that is possible. I personally welcome China's rise and hope the Chinese people and American people continue to prosper.
The American people still have a lot to learn about China. China is a great country with great people and has an amazing history and culture. I'm excited about where the relationship is headed and I look forward to seeing mutual cooperation and trade between both amazing countries. President Xi and the Chinese people are always welcome in the United States."
