Huang Gesheng's solo show at the National Art Museum of China demonstrates the exploration of Lijiang Painting School as an important category of modern Chinese art, through a display of more than 80 ink-and-water paintings. The painting school was developed by artists of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and mainly depicts Guangxi's natural scenery. Huang's artworks in the exhibition, which are shown to the public for the first time, are categorized into three motifs: Lijiang River, fortified mountainous villages of ethnic groups and scenic spots.
