Mayor visits companies in Yima

Zhao Haiyan, mayor of Sanmenxia, in central China’s Henan province, visited Yima city, a county-level city under the administration of Sanmenxia, on Dec 19.

Zhao attended the opening ceremony of Henan Pingsheng Electrics Technology Co’s liquid crystal display(LCD) module project and also visited Henan Kaixiang Chemicals Co’s PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) project in addition to the company’s methanol technical transformation project.

Pingsheng’s LCD module project, with total investment of 250 million yuan ($41.18 million), is expected to create more than 300 jobs, and its annual sales revenue is set to reach 260 million yuan, with an annual output of 12 million.

The project concerns 10.5 inch TFT-LCD modules which will be used with electronic appliances - including mobile phones, panel computers, televisions and digital cameras.

The project was made possible following the adjustment of the city’s economic structure and will play an important role in the city’s development of its electronic industry.

Zhao headed to Kaixiang Chemicals immediately after the opening ceremony, and focused on the production procedures and PBT and methanol projects.

Kaixiang made a profit of 280 million yuan in the first 11 months of 2013 and this was expected to reach 300 million by the end of the year.

The methanol project’s technical transformation is expected to be completed in January, 2014.

Zhao praised Yima’s support for Kaixiang’s development and also called for structural adjustments based on new technology and new materials.

Li Lin, vice-mayor of Sanmenxia, and Li Tingfu, secretary-general of the city’s government accompanied Zhao during her visit.
