The adoption of the South-to-North Mushroom Transfer Project in Lingbao in recent years has led to the creation of new growth in Sanmenxia's agricultural industry.
The South-to-North Mushroom Transfer Project is a national initiative with the aim of transferring the mushroom industry from its primary base in the south of China to the north, where climatic conditions are better for cultivating fungi.
Lingbao has played a key role in the strategy and the local government has lent its full support. It also contains 6.67 million square meters of fruit tree area, providing the raw materials needed for the growth of the fungi.
Thanks to efforts made by the government, Lingbao has established five enterprises for the processing and export of edible fungi and two special markets for fungi trade. Six kinds of fungi produced in the area have been identified as national-level pollution-free agricultural products.
