Sanmenxia delegation attends cultural industries expo

A delegation led by Niu Lanying, vice mayor of Sanmenxia, took part in the ninth West China Cultural Industries Expo held in Xi'an on Sept 6.

As one of China's largest cultural industries expo, the expo has been successfully held eight times with 2.1 million visitors. The contract amount of the cultural items reached 180 billion yuan ($26.23 billion).

The delegation visited some key exhibition halls and gained deep insights into the traditional intangible cultural heritage projects, including Shangluo Huagu Opera (flowery drum), a typical folk art performed in Shangluo, Shaanxi province and Huazhou shadow play and many other traditional folk arts. Niu stressed that Sanmenxia should attach importance to the important role of the cultural industries in promoting the transformation of economic development patterns, and the city shall make efforts to set up its own high quality cultural brands to boost the local economy through developing the cultural industry.

Qing Zhiying, deputy mayor of Sanmenxia, encouraged the participating enterprises to develop distinctive cultural products with Sanmenxia elements, and propel the local cultural development and boost the unique cultural brands of the city.
