Sanmenxia youngster pockets gold at intl shooting competition

Shi Mengyao, a young shooter from Sanmenxia, Henan province won the gold medal at the women's 10-meter air rifle final at the 2018 International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Changwon, South Korea, on Sept 7.

Hosted by the ISSF, the first world cup was held in Lyon, France in 1897, and this year's competition was hosted in Asia for a second time after 40 years, attracting 4,400 athletes and workers from 90 countries and regions, hitting a record high in attendence. The shooters competed to get entry into the 2020 Tokyo Games.
