Creative products add new life to Palace Museum

The Palace Museum expects to generate around 900 million yuan ($147 million) this year out of its cultural creative products. It is planning to open three digital museums and release three apps in 2015; both aimed at the high-end market.

Beaded earphones, imperial robe T-shirts and sword stationery - these are just a few of the latest and "fashionable" merchandise offered by the Palace Museum.

A Day of the Emperor, an app that helps children learn about the emperor's living, work and entertainment during the Qing Dynasty, is already available online. Three more apps produced by the Palace Museum will go online in 2015.
