Counterfeit coin operation operates at a loss
Criminals counterfeit money with visions of untold riches, but three inexperienced crooks actually made a loss on their counterfeiting scheme.
The gang of three men counterfeited more than 160,000 one-yuan coins by using a game-currency-making-machine, after investing 180,000 yuan ($28,782) on the machine and other raw materials, in Lanling county of Linyi, East China's Shandong province, iqilu.com reported.
The head of the gang, surnamed Qian, 36, is a farmer who failed in business in Shanghai before going into counterfeiting. Unfortunately for him, he didn't seem to be much better at being a crook either.
The gang has been arrested and is undergoing investigation.
