Daredevil breaks world record for blind tightrope walking

A man from Xinjiang has smashed the Guinness World Record for the longest tightrope crossing while blindfolded, walking backwards between two skyscrapers in Kunming, Yunnan province, Netease reported on Sunday.

The tightrope walker performed his stunt by tiptoeing along a 100-meter-long tightrope, suspended 150 meters above the ground with a balance beam in his hands while blindfolded. The whole performance took 15 minutes.

The Uygur performer, who is the sixth generation descendant of Dawaz (the Uygur name for high-wire walking), is also the Guinness record –holder for six records.
