On 20th Dec, 30 taxi driver families were invited to the National Center for the Performing Arts to join the activities with the Children's Arts World which started this month.

It was the first time for the NCPA to invite such groups to the Arts educational program. Following a curator, guests toured the premise visiting some themed exhibitions and then went to learn some basic dance introductions given by professor Tian Peipei from Capital Normal University.

Wang Fang, Taxi Driver My husband and I are both taxi drivers. We drive past the Egg almost every day during our work time. But this is our first time to be in it.

Kid from the taxi driver I have learned a lot from the lecture. Dances are different if they are from different places. For example, Mongolian Dance presents some Mongolians' hobby. Ballet, to me, is somehow like the Chinese traditional dance.

Li Yanqiu, Taxi Driver Thanks a million to the National Center for the Performing Arts. This is a precious opportunity for us taxi drivers.

Today's lecture is part of the "Children Arts World" program which officially kicked off in early December. Aimed at promoting arts education among Chinese young people, the program includes activities such as mini concerts, lectures and performances.

Since it opened to the public last December, the National Center for the Performing Arts has staged as many as 831 art educational activities which benefit roughly 32 million people.
