Gothenburg launches its ChristmasCity theme "Lane of Light", showcasing the best of contemporary Swedish lighting design and innovative large scale outdoor events since Dec. 5. Scandinavia's largest Christmas market, famous for its spectacular Christmas lights, genuine Swedish handicrafts, and enticing homemade delicacies takes place at Liseberg, Scandinavia's largest amusement park, in central Gothenburg and features close to five million glimmering lights adorning the trees and buildings as well as more than 700 Christmas trees and six kilometres of fir garlands decorating the park.
The Christmas market sees half a million visitors during the five weeks of opening from mid November.
Liseberg is an almost 80-year-old amusement park and top tourist attraction in Sweden, with over 3 million visitors a year.there are 80 cabins and shops offering everything that makes Christmas special. It is wonderful to soak up the Christmas spirit this event provides.
