A plane sent to fetch 98 Chinese citizens from Mexico arrived in Shanghai Wednesday afternoon. All onboard were in normal condition, the city's quarantine bureau said.

The plane with 98 passengers and 21 crew members on board landed at a remote parking area in the Pudong International Airport at 4:32 pm. Medical professionals boarded immediately after the landing to check the body temperature of each passenger and crew member. No unusual conditions were reported.

Each of the passengers received a letter of apology and a Shanghai World Expo mascot. Passengers and crew members will be kept under a weeklong quarantine in a nearby hotel.

China suspended direct flights from Mexico to Shanghai starting Saturday after a 25-year-old Mexican man, who arrived in Shanghai Thursday, was later diagnosed with A/H1N1 flu in Hong Kong and put into quarantine.

As of 6 pm Wednesday, there were some 300 people under quarantine in Hong Kong, 68 in Shanghai, 28 in Taiwan Province, 28 in Guangdong Province, 17 in Jiangsu Province and 11 in Tianjin.
