China's Ministry of Health Wednesday confirmed a man in the eastern Shandong Province who recently returned from Canada tested positive for the A(H1N1) flu.
The Chinese student who studied at a Canadian university, boarded the Flight AC029 at 12:00 pm on May 7 (local time) in Canada and arrived in Beijing on May 8.
Airport authorities said his body temperature was normal when he arrived in Beijing. He stayed at the RuJia Hotel in Beijing's Chaoyang District, he was there for 3 days, the hotel now is closed for business while being disinfected, with guards and police outside.
Lv left Beijing by Train D41 on Monday evening for Jinan, the provincial capital of Shandong, and reported by phone to the Jinan Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) while on the train. He was then sent to the Jinan Infectious Disease Hospital for isolation and treatment.
The country's health authorities have begun a manhunt for those in close contact with Lv during his travels.
