The Chinese mainland confirmed 51 new A/H1N1 flu cases recorded between 6 pm June 27 to 6 pm June 28.
It brings the total number of infections to 729 with no fatalities.
According to the Health Ministry’s website 19 new cases confirmed were in Guangdong province. Experts of the Public Health Department of Guangdong Province said more outbreaks are expected in China, particularly in Guangdong.
Last Wednesday Beijiao Central Primary School in Jiangmen was closed for seven days after 11 students were infected with the A/H1N1 flu. It is the second school to be closed because of the infection.
In order to take control of the pandemic, city’s Education Committee announced that all students who leave Beijing during the holidays must return seven days before the next school term begins, which normally falls on September 1.
