The Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung (IAA) is the world's largest motor show. It is held biennially in Frankfurt, Germany and is known in English as the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Since 1992 the show has been split in two: Even-numbered years show commercial cars in Hannover and odd-numbered years show passenger cars in Frankfurt.

In this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show many new car models will be unveiled by manufacturers.

The new Mulsanne, designed and engineered at Crewe, United Kingdom, reaffirms the marque's intent to create a new Bentley with refined performance and unparalleled levels of interior luxury.

The Swedes unveiled the new Saab 9-5, the company’s flagship executive car.

MINI has been hard at work turning its pint sized classic into a collectible. The MINI Coupé Concept and the MINI Roadster Concept models will be built over a limited one year run. These exclusive cars will have special equipment and design features. The new models will be joined by the world debut of the MINI One D, which features a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine enhanced with direct common-rail fuel injection. The turbocharger has variable turbine geometry for optimal power development at all engine speeds.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars also unveiled the new Ghost. The engineers say the Ghost is the most 'dynamically interesting drive' of any Rolls and will achieve 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds.

BMW introduced the ActiveHybrid X6 and the ActiveHybrid 7 Series along with BMW Vision EfficientDynamics. The new Bimmers can reach 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, but speed is electronically regulated to 250 km/h. They consume 3.7 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers and emit 99 grams of CO2 per kilometer in hybrid mode.

Jaguar revealed the all-new XJ, which, depending on the market, is available to order now. Early bird customers can expect to receive their cars in early 2010.

Opel presented its zero emission Ampera. This five-door, four-seat model uses the ground-breaking electric propulsion technology called Voltec, which operates differently from other advanced propulsion systems. This extended-range electric vehicle (E-REV) uses electricity as its primary power source and gasoline as a secondary power source to generate electricity.

Also Volkswagen, Citroen Revolte, the Toyota Land Cruiser and Aston Martin unveiled new models.

The show starts on September 17th and ends September 27th.
