It was 6 o'clock in the morning and the sky above Beijing was just showing a tiny tinge of white, but people who were going to participate in the parade celebrating China's 60th anniversary had already been gathered around Tian’anmen Square for more than an hour. They were all ready and high-spirited for the great event.
