The ceremony of the upcoming historical epic Confucius’ premiere was held at Beijing International Convention Centre on 14 January 2010.
The leading actor Chow Yun Fat, the leading actress Zhou Xun and director Hu Mei showed up on the red carpet and attended the ceremony, sharing their experiences of making the film with the audience.
The 77th generation of Confucius’ descendents, Kong Demao, sent a calligraphic note which read “Forever Confucius” to Chow Yun Fat at the ceremony. Chow received the present on his knees and performed a deep kowtow showing his respect to the lady.
The singer of the film’s theme song, Faye Wong, also gave her best regards to the film’s premiere next week through VCR.
Confucius is the greatest sage and teacher in China’s history. His thoughts profoundly influenced Chinese culture, and became an important spiritual root of the Chinese people.
The film will be in cinema screens on 22nd January 2010.
