Global World City Conference

The Global World City Conference will be held at Beijing Conference Center from Sept 18 to 19, 2010.

Beijing Municipal Committee of the Tenth seven plenary sessions, which was held at the end of 2009, announced that they would examine the development of the capital from the viewpoint of constructing a world city. As a high-end international city, world city is a city that has an important influence on the global economy, policy, culture etc. Now, as the city is stepping up and making the 12th Five-year Developing Plan, this international academic conference has significant meaning.

This conference will discuss and communicate from three perspectives of intellectual capital, creative industry and innovation model to promote the construction of a world city.

The sponsors of this conference are Beijing Academy of Science and Technology and Beijing Research Center for Science, supporters are Beijing Multiple Science &Technology Commission, Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park Zone Management Committee and Beijing Intellectual Property, and co-sponsors are Zhongguancun Intellectual Property Promotion Office, Asia-Pacific Intellectual Capital Centre, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Technical Innovation and Strategic Management Research Center and Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft Beijing Office.

The Ministry of Science and Technology and related leaders from Beijing will attend the conference. World Intellectual Property Organization, government officials of European Union and other international organizations, experts and scholars from Germany, Britain, Australia, Belgium, Italy, and from China’s Hong Kong and Taiwan area, from Peking University, from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and other institutions of higher learning and research institutes will also attend the conference.
