The Australia Pavilion welcomed its 7 millionth visitor on the morning of Oct 6, meeting its goal of doubling the attendance of the country's 2005 Aichi Expo exhibition, with three weeks remaining.
Australia has impressed visitors with its creativity many times in the Expo's history, and this time was no exception.
Themed "ImagiNation", the 4,800-square-meter pavilion features a red-ochre facade made from a special kind of temperature-sensitive steel that changes color as temperature and humidity levels change.
The interior of the pavilion is divided into three sections - "Journey", "Discover" and "Enjoy" - and they showcase many aspects of Australian life, including its landscape, history, culture, technology and urban development.
Daily attendance to the Australia Pavilion was 46,000 on average, making the pavilion one of the most popular at the Expo site.
