The 28th Flying Award press conference and its official website launch ceremony were held in Beijing July 25.
Eighty-two full-length TV series are nominated for awards.
Organizers said they received 161 works, totaling 5,655 episodes. This year’s nominees cover a wider range of subjects and styles than last year’s.
Every TV show currently on air was eligible for nomination. Apart from full-length TV series, medium-length TV shows, child programming and TV operas are all nominated.
The Flying Awards, the top government award in Chinese TV, was established in 1981. It has recorded the development and witnessed the innovative accomplishments of Chinese TV over 30 years. This year’s 2Flying Awards will be held in Beijing on August 25.
