Chinese race walker Chen Ding thanked all his supporters back in China after he won the men's 20-kilometer race walk on Saturday in London, England, adding another gold medal for China.
Born on Aug 5, 1992, in South China's Yunnan province, Chen started practicing the sport when he was less than 13 years old.
He almost gave up the race walking in 2005 due to his injuries and being generally unsatisfied with his performances.
On top of winning the gold medal, Chen also set a new world record with a time of one hour, 18 minutes and 46 seconds.
