GAZA - Israel and Hamas Islamists have agreed to carry out a deal to swap captive soldier Gilad Shalit for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners on Tuesday, an official involved in the Egyptian-mediated negotiations told Reuters on Sunday.
"The sides have agreed that Tuesday is the day for the handovers," the official said, saying details had been finalised for carrying out the swap agreed by both sides last week.
