An innovation center for BRICS nations cooperation and global governance was established in Shanghai on Thursday.
The BRICS group, which comprises China, Brazil, India, Russia and South Africa, has gained prominence in recent years, a development that has brought changes to international relations and orders. The establishment of the innovation center is in line with China's foreign strategy of promoting BRICS nations' cooperation.
The innovation center was jointly established by the BRICS Nations Research Center of Fudan University, the Institute of International Studies of Tsinghua University, the South Asia Research Center of Sichuan University, the Russia Research Center of East China Normal University, and the Africa Research Center of Zhejiang Normal University.
By merging these universities' academic advantages and research foundation, the innovation center aims to become a platform providing intellectual support for BRICS nations' participation in global governance.
The center will contribute to the talents cultivation in the fields of global-affairs research and promote multi-evel and all-around cooperation among the countries.
