6.3-magnitude quake hits Vancouver Island

BEIJING - A 6.3-magnitude earthquake jolted off the Vancouver Island, Canada region, at 10:01 am Thursday Beijing Time, the China Earthquake Networks Center said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 20 km, was determined to be at 49.2 degrees north latitude and 128.5 degrees west longitude, the center said.
