WASHINGTON - Three people are dead and another is wounded in a shooting incident on Friday in Kansas City suburb, police were quoted as saying by local media.
Police were called to the house in Independence early Friday at about 4:30 am on a report of home invasion, the local media said.
The victims were identified as 48-year-old Maria Hernandez; her boyfriend, Thomas Madrigal, and Hernandez's son, Antonio Hernandez. The fourth person was not identified but in critical condition.
Capt. John Cato said police officers have been working outside the house all the morning, talking with witnesses and nearby residents.
A motive has not been established. Police said the gunmen may know the victims and witnesses reported at least two intruders.
