Biggest deals signed and sealed during President Xi's overseas visits

Economic and trade cooperation is one of the main themes of President Xi Jinping's overseas visits. During his trips in 2015, China signed deals worth more than $100 billion, focusing on several areas, including energy, transportation, infrastructure, aviation, technology, tourism and education.

51 agreements and MoUs worth $46b

The two countries signed 51 agreements and memorandums of understanding worth $46 billion, in two groups, including multibillion-dollar concessional loans provided by China, and focusing on areas including the southwestern Pakistani port of Gwadar, energy, transportation infrastructure and industry.

China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)

More than 30 agreements among the 51 agreements and memorandums of understanding are designed to boost the CPEC project. Early results of the planned corridor have seen 25 projects scheduled to be completed in the next three to five years.

16,400 megawatts of electricity

Under 21 agreements on energy, the countries will cooperate on gas, coal and solar energy projects to provide 16,400 megawatts of electricity - roughly equivalent to Pakistan's current capacity.
