Sun Chengcai, 55, police officer

Current location: Shanghai

Hometown: Lianyungang, East China's Jiangsu province

It is the second Spring Festival that I stay in Shanghai instead of going back to my hometown due to the epidemic.

Being a police officer means responsibility, most of my colleagues will be busy on the New Year's Eve to visit residents, check fire safety, and prevent different kinds of fraud.

The number of migrant workers staying in the city for the Spring Festival has increased significantly this year as a result of the government's call for people to stay put to reduce the flow of people.

I and another two police officers will be responsible for the safety of nearly 10,000 people. I will visit the older people who live alone and check potential safety hazards, and I might only have one or two dinners at home with my family during the festival.
