The works of 12 artists, who have nominated for this year's Wang Shikuo Award, are being shown in an ongoing exhibition at the Today Art Museum in Beijing.
The award, named after the late realist painter and educator Wang Shikuo, was jointly established by a foundation in his honor and the museum in 2016 to support Chinese artists.
This year's award-winner will be announced on June 24.
The artworks on show include paintings, videos, sculptures and installations that dwell on the many dilemmas of society, among other topics. The exhibition runs through July 2.
