China's Discovery ROV finds coral forests, sponge field in Pacific Ocean

Photo taken on Aug 26, 2017 shows a coral collected from the Caroline Seamount in the western Pacific Ocean. Chinese scientists on board the research vessel Kexue conducted research on the Caroline Seamount in the western Pacific Ocean from Aug 7 to 29. China's remote operated vehicle (ROV) Discovery, carried by the Kexue research vessel, found coral forests and sponge field in the east ridge of the Caroline Seamount. [Photo/Xinhua]
